Charlie is a long time System administrator that prefers to use a pseudonym of Charlie Root.  The BSD root account always used "Charlie &" in the gecos/comment field of the passwd file.  People used to try and save time anyway they could.  Thomas could use "& Uphill".  People with shorter usernames couldn't, like jp. Charlie still likes Perl despite what JP and Thomas think.
