Wireless (AR5212) on T60 FC6 madwifi

Another department bought some T60’s with Atheros Wireless. We had some issues getting madwifi working, but using the older 0.9.2.1 tree seems to have solved the problem. With the svn versions we were getting this error:

wifi%d: unable to attach hardware: 'Hardware didn't respond as expected' (HAL status 3)
Using 0.9.2.1 seems to have solved this issue. We downgraded the kernel from 2.6.19 to 2.6.18 also, 2.6.19 had some other issues, I don’t have the laptop here, so I can’t test with 2.6.19 to get it working properly. Here are the rpms. kernel-madwifi-0.9.2.1-1.PU_IAS.4_2.6.18_1.2869.fc6.i686.rpm
madwifi-0.9.2.1-1.PU_IAS.4.src.rpm

    Hello guys,
I have a T60 on RedHat EL 5 with kernel 2.6.18-1-4, I have rebuild madwifi 0.9.2-1-1 from source, I modprobe it correctly, I can scan wireless network, but I can’t connect to wireless network( I used NetworkManager, I don’t try manually with iwconfig, I will do it) but I’m not writing about that.
I would like to known if your wireless led is on when you try to connect to a network, mine is always off.

    Thanks
    Jerome

mine is sporatic, but I would say for the most part it remains off, even while connected and passing traffic. You may be having the mode problem I mentioned in another post, search for mode should find it…good luck!
